Taqyeem is a review site for university students. This page explains what we collect, what we show, and what we never do.
What we collect
An email address. That is the only personal detail we ask for. It exists so we can send you a sign in code and confirm you are a real person.
The reviews you write: the scores, your answers to the four questions, any tags you choose, and your comment.
Which university your email belongs to, worked out from its domain. If it matches no university, your account simply has no university attached.
What we never collect
Your name. Your student number. The grade you received. The semester you took a course. There is no username, no display name and no profile, because there is nothing to put in one.
What other people see
A published review shows the scores, the answers, the year, and the words “verified student” (with your university’s name, if you signed up with your university email address). The course name appears only once that course has three or more reviews for that professor, because below that the course and the year together would narrow it down too far.
Your email address is never shown to anyone. Neither is anything else that could identify you.
What we can see
Every review is read by a person before it is published. That queue shows the review. No page or tool on this site shows which account wrote which review.
To be precise rather than reassuring: reviews are stored in our database attached to the account that wrote them. That link is what stops the same person reviewing the same course twice, and it is what allows us to delete your reviews if you ask us to. Nothing we use day to day surfaces it, but we are not going to tell you it does not exist.
Where your data is kept
Our database is hosted by Supabase on servers in Frankfurt, Germany. The site runs on Vercel. Sign in codes are sent through Resend. Each of these processes data on our behalf under its own privacy terms.
Cookies
This site sets one cookie: a sign in session, so you stay signed in between visits. It is not used for advertising or tracking, and there is no other cookie on this site.
Analytics
This site uses no analytics and does not track visitors. Nothing records which pages you look at, how you got here, or what you do on the site.
What you can ask for
You can ask us to delete your account, and you can ask us to delete reviews you have written. Email contact@taqyeem.cc, tell us which, and we will do it.
You can also ask what information we hold about you, and we will tell you.
Children
This site is for university students and is not intended for anyone under 16.
Changes
If this policy changes we will update this page and change the date below.
